The England Universities Representative Development Programme is committed to developing the most talented student footballers within the English Higher Education system and offering them opportunities and pathways after they graduate.
The relationship that has been established with the newly re-formed Guernsey Athletics FC presents an exciting chance for our players to be part of a new and innovative approach to football in the Island. The fact that Guernsey Athletics have the interests of players at the core of their Club ethos was a major factor in offering support and advertising the Club to our players.
It is hoped that our students will gain a life experience by being on the Island for a year and not only develop their technical ability but also give something back to the Club and the community. This venture sits well with the other pathways that we are developing with Clubs in Malta and India and this year we hope will be the start of a long association between University footballers and the Guernsey Athletics.

Guernsey Athletics agree link with English Universities Squad
New club Athletics have announced a new working relationship with the England Universities football squad.
The new link will result in next season as many as three quality players from the England Universities football system playing in the maroon-and-white colours of the revived Guernsey club.
The association between the Tics and England Universities comes quickly after Guernseyman Steve Sharman brought an England Universities representative squad to help Guernsey with their Muratti final preparations.
Following talks between Sharman, who manages the England Universities squad, and Tics representatives, the former agreed to assist the new Guernsey club who are keen to offer young island footballers with pathways in football and as many development opportunities as possible.
‘The idea of developing young players and offering them opportunities that they may never have received from the current clubs is an ideal that has merit and mirrors our programme within university representative football,’ said Sharman, who is based at the University of Warwick.
